Dolphin Watch & Eco Tour boat cruising the Laguna Madre

Dolphin Watch & Eco Tour in South Padre Island

Cruise the Laguna Madre, spot wild dolphins, and get hands-on with local marine life. South Padre Island's #1 year-round activity since 1988.

Year-Round Tour

The Original Dolphin Watch Experience

The Dolphin Watch & Eco Tour is our signature experience — and the reason we've been a South Padre Island favorite for over 35 years.

Cruise the calm waters of the Laguna Madre with our experienced crew as we search for wild bottlenose dolphins. Watch them swim, play, and surf the wake of the boat.

Then it's time for the eco tour. Our crew pulls up a net full of local marine life — shrimp, crabs, small fish, and sometimes even a seahorse. You'll get to see them up close before we release them safely back into the bay.

FAQs

Dolphin Watch & Eco Tour Questions

Will we definitely see dolphins?

We've been running tours since 1988, and it's extremely rare that we don't spot at least one pod. While we can't guarantee sightings, dolphins call the Laguna Madre home year-round.

What's the difference between the morning and afternoon tour?

Same experience, different price. The morning tour is $18 per person — our best deal. Afternoon tours are $20. Morning conditions are often calmer, making it a favorite for families and photographers.

What happens during the eco tour portion?

Our crew pulls up a net with local marine life — shrimp, crabs, small fish, sometimes a seahorse or flounder. You can see and touch them before we release everything safely back into the bay.

Is this tour good for young kids?

Absolutely. The eco tour is hands-on and educational, and kids love seeing dolphins up close. Children under 2 ride free.

What should I bring?

Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a camera. You're welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks — BYOB is allowed, just no glass containers.
